Under the hood, the Chevy Silverado HD offers two engine options built to match the scope of the work ahead.

The available Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 produces 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission, and it handles up to 36,000 pounds of max available trailering weight. Every Silverado HD Dually equipped with this engine can pull over 30,000 pounds, and the 2500 HD reaches a class-leading maximum Crew Cab towing capability of 22,070 pounds.

Drivers who prefer gas power get the 6.6L V8, bringing 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, also matched with the 10-speed Allison transmission and offering 19,080 lbs. of max available trailering weight. Either engine turns heavy-duty jobs into routine ones.

The Silverado HD bed is built from high-strength roll-formed steel, delivering 83.5 cubic feet of cargo volume and 12 standard tie-downs rated at 500 pounds per corner. An available 120-volt outlet adds extra convenience for job-site tools and equipment.

On the technology side, up to 8 available cameras and 14 total views give drivers a clearer look at their surroundings, especially when hitching up or backing out.
